Spring is Springing!

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood, a beautiful day in the neighborhood, so.. Just a momentary digression back to my Mr. Roger's days....loved that man! :) It is quite a bit warmer here today with promises of 70's for the weekend, which isn't half bad, even for a tried and true winter lover such as myself!

I finally made it to our local knitting group this morning after much procrastinating. The group meets at 10 a.m. and that's just a tad too early for me to do the things I like to do in the morning and get dressed, etc. I would love it in the afternoon, but I'm one of the minority on that issue, so I only go now and then. Today's group had some interesting things on their needles such as a chenille throw which was just plain luscious. Also a few pair of great looking socks using different patterns, and one gal was even working on her needlepoint, which was kind of interesting because I've only done one thing in needlepoint and vowed never again. I didn't have the patience for the length of time it took to complete, but today I was intrigued seeing her lovely work. No, I cannot get into another craft or I'll wind up staying up all night to work on both things and that would never do.

I'm plugging away on the baby blanket and making a snail's progress, but better a snail's than none at all. Also knitting my second Opal sock, and my 2 pair at the same time on circulars using the Rowan wool-cotton, which is great to knit with. I'm doing fine now but I hope the heel and gusset area doesn't give me fits when I come to them, not after all this knitting of two at a time.

I took this personality test and gotta' love it because I've always been a fan of Kermie, old boy! :) I too believe, "it ain't easy being green", not in this world today, my friends. So, I'll keep it short and sweet for today and bid you adieu.....be safe, be happy, and above all, knit on.

You Are Kermit

Hi, ho! Lovable and friendly, you get along well with everyone you know.
You're a big thinker, and sometimes you over think life's problems.
Don't worry - everyone knows it's not easy being green.
Just remember, time's fun when you're having flies!

Our knitting group is in the afternoon and that works for me, I like to be able to do my chores at home before going out for the day.

I used to do needlepoint and cross stitch, pre kids and husband so I had a lot more 'me' time, as it is very time consuming.

You have been playing with your blog again Laura, I love this colour combination the best of all so far.

Laura,

Mr. Rogers was a favourite of mine also.

I'm glad you were able to attend your knitting group this week. It sounds like you have lots of yummy projects on the needles.

hugs to you

Hi Laura, it's me again, you sure can pinch my knitting lady. Isn't she gorgeous, I found her on a site that had a whole heap of war knitting pics, can't remember exactly where but I had to have her.

I went and found her site and she is now linked to it so you can view the other great war time knitting pics.
