Promised Pictures

Let me start off with a picture for Saturday Sky on Friday.....I've been lax with my SS pics lately and with this day so clear and crisp (just the way I like it), I thought the clouds were lovely. I've been knitting away on the Aran baby blanket and I know I said it was almost completed but did you ever knit something from a yarn that just DOES NOT want to end? That seems to be the case with this wonderfully soft and supple Shelridge Farms merino. I will continue it until the yarn runs out or until my new granddaughter is born, whichever comes first. If you look closely you can see the skein of yarn peeking out from the side of the blanket.

Ohhhh, and I got some good news to report......I won the contest that
Bernie was running to "name her Amigurumi monkey! He is just so cute, so stop by and see him. It's so much fun to be picked as the winner...thanks, Bernie for the fun contest and say hello to "Mel" for me.

Above is the sock I'm knitting using the Magic Loop method. I've never tried it before and wanted to learn so I signed up for classes at my local yarn shop. The owner, Jackie, is one of the sweetest women you could ever hope to meet. She is fun to be around and very encouraging to everyone who walks through her shop door. We decided on a picot edging while I was at it since I never did one of those either and I really like the way it looks. I've just turned the heel (another first, eye of the partridge), using Melenweit yarn which is very nice to knit with.

That's about it for now, but I wish all of you many happy hours of fiber fun and a great weekend as well!

Most of which never happened."

I love the blanket, and the cottage cheese sky. Is that what it's called?

How did you end up liking the socks on Magic Loop? I tried it but gave up. :o)

The blanket is just beautiful and I am impressed with your magic loop socks, do you like knitting them that way?
