April Showers Bring May Flowers!

I've been knitting and crocheting just about every day and above you'll see a picture of my first attempt ever at a Baby Surprise Jacket (pattern by EZ and available at Schoolhouse Press). A very big thank you goes out to JOANNA who was a tremendous help to me and took the time to try and explain it to my "I've got to see it done" brain. I found the pattern to be rather confusing so I opted to purchase the new DVD done by Meg Swansen in which she explains each phase as it's knit and shows her methods of increasing, etc.

I love Meg Swansen....she is so talented and so relaxing to listen to while knitting. Meg has an easy way of getting things across to the knitter and I'm in her debt for this pattern. I don't think I could have figured it out on my own just from the pattern alone. To me, seeing it done is worth a thousand printed words and illustrations, so a very big thank you to Meg from Moi!

I've been a bit lax with my posting so I've neglected to post a picture of the beautiful crocheted items gifted to me by the fabulous Bernie. I won a contest on her blog to name the adorable monkey which she crocheted (his name is Melvin, or Mel for short). Aren't these 2 items the most adorable things you've seen in a long time? I am keeping my crochet hooks in the longer of the two which even has a zipper sewn in! In the smaller drawstring bag, I have some folding scissors and markers. You do such lovely work, Bernie, and thank you once again.....I love using these and will always remember your kindness.

Your flower photos are lovely! I'm so glad that spring has finally arrived.

I'm getting ready to pick some crocheting up myself--waiting for the yarn to arrive for a ripple blanket for Math Guy to take to college in the fall.
